PENDLETON COUNTY RESOURCES
We proudly support the work of our local service providers, governments, organizations who help make Pendleton County worth the climb every single day.
The Pendleton County Commission is comprised of three elected Commissioners, representing the three major geographic regions of the county. They meet at the County Court House at 9:00 am on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of every month.
The Town of Franklin is the County Seat, and only incorporated municipality in Pendleton County. The elected town council meets on the second Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 pm, and town offices are open to the public during regular office hours.
The Pendleton County Chamber of Commerce was established in 2002. Providing community, and resources for our local businesses, the chamber hosts annual events both for members and the public at large multiple times a year.
Providing Economic Development services to both Pendleton And Grant Counties, the SRRDA advances economic growth and health throughout the two county region by encouraging and facilitating business development.
Providing coordination and prioritization of emergency management and response capacity throughout Pendleton County.
Providing EMS services and supporting emergency response coordination for all areas of Pendleton County.
Working in coordination with the local State Police and emergency response service providers, the Sheriff's Office provides County wide services.
The western half of Pendleton County is home to thousands of acres of the Monongahela National Forest including the Spruce Knob - Seneca Rocks Recreation Area, the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center, and the Seneca Back Country Trail System. The Cheat-Potomac District office in Petersburg provides oversight of these public lands.
The eastern border of Pendleton County is home to various public recreation assets located within the George Washington National Forest, including the Brandywine Lake Recreation Area, Camp Run Camp Ground, and the West Side Road Shooting Range. The North River District office in Harrisonburg, VA provides oversight of these public lands.
Located in the heart of historic downtown Franklin, the Pendleton County Public Library provides more than book lending. With public internet access, computer access, and a dedicated genealogy room, as well as public events such as movie screenings, children's activities and book sales.
Serving the educational needs of students throughout the county, Pendleton County Schools include three elementary schools and a combined Middle/High School. School Board offices are located on main street in historic downtown Franklin.

Appalachian Forest National HEritage Area
Celebrating and educating about the unique and rich legacy of our region's forest heritage, this organization supports cultural and historical projects and programming throughout an eighteen-county region. Based in Elkins, WV.
