With options for cycling, hiking, golf, rock climbing, horseback riding & historical. Pendleton County is home to Spruce Knob, the highest point in the state of WV, Seneca Rocks, an iconic natural landmark, and two National Forests, Monongahela & the George Washington.

From indoor recreation like bowling & roller skating to underground caverns & shopping at a local General Store or just staying in and enjoying the evening at a cozy inn, one can kick back & enjoy being tucked away in those PenCo mountains.

Fishing

Home to some of the best fishing in the state, Pendleton County offers secluded fishing spots, lakes & rivers… take your pick! Many of our top spots are easily accessible for people of all skill sets – beginner or an experienced fishing pro. 

History, Arts & Culture

From Native American history at the Seneca Rocks Discovery Center to the Boggs Museum run by the Pendleton County Historical Society, Pendleton County beckons the history lover in all of us. Our heritage is rooted deep within the ridges & valleys of Pendleton County. This heritage is kept alive through events such as the Treasure Mountain Festival & stories that are passed down throughout the generations.
